Every flower design begins with a few simple shapes.

For this Larkspur, I combined 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐬, 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬, 𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐥-𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬, 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞-𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬— arranging and layering them little by little until the flower slowly came to life.

I love seeing how these simple paper shapes can come together to create something so delicate and full of character. 🌿💜

And because I enjoyed creating this one so much, I’ve also turned the design into a 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 for anyone who would like to create their own Larkspur. ✨

Watching these two koi swim together reminded me that harmony can be found in balance, gentle movement, and the quiet flow of life 🌀

This piece was inspired by the graceful flow of koi and the peaceful rhythm of water. As each curve came together, it became a small reminder that beauty often grows when different elements exist in balance.
