What happens when your signal strength and 2.4GHz settings already look correct, but the digital lock still keeps going offline?
Check the final two layers:
1. Roaming: Mesh systems may automatically steer devices between different nodes. This can work well for phones, but simpler IoT devices may struggle with fast roaming, band steering or repeated node switching.
2. Hardware: Test the lock with a strong, simple and nearby 2.4GHz access point. This helps isolate the home network from the lock itself.
If the connection becomes stable during the test, the home network is more likely contributing to the problem.
If it remains unstable under the test network, the lock’s power supply or Wi-Fi module may need assessment.
The full diagnosis order is:
Signal → Settings → Roaming → Hardware
Do not replace the router or lock before identifying which layer is actually failing.
Save the four-layer framework before changing your router, or your lock.
