Most contractors will have at least once in their life when the grinder overshots! So heres a gold tip. Place a scraper as a barrier. Its better to grind off that scraper than to accidentally overshot and grind clients floor.

Don't ovethink it. Star pattern (which is just more randomized than the X pattern) is an easy technique that one naturally develops after doing limewash for many many sqms.

And start from the top! Always! Because there will be paint drops.
