AR047 | Schematic Design Sketch

The Reading House.
Keeping them old bones and keeping them old books. The clients said they had so many books they wondered if the house was sagging due to the weight of the books.

AR019 | House of Keeping

The facade is composed through layers of solid and void. One side recedes into a deep-set opening, while the other is defined by a flush grid of glass blocks. The blocks reveal nothing outwardly; they filter daylight inward, softening it before it enters the home. Textured paint and timber louvres complete a restrained material palette. Greenery is threaded through every level, tempering the scale of the house and marking moments of pause within daily routines.

We shine the spotlight on Singaporean female architects who were recognised by the fourth edition of URA’s 20 under 45

Behind the scenes of the mural painting

Blueprint of a Shophouse reimagines the technical language of architecture as a public artwork. The mural takes the most literal tool of the discipline, the sectional drawing, and projects it at a 1:1 scale. What is usually confined to paper becomes a full-scale slice of a shophouse, transforming a technical diagram into a lived-in scene that blurs the boundary between drawing and dwelling.

Being selected for the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s 4th edition of 20 Under 45 is both humbling and deeply meaningful to us. Beyond the work itself, this recognition affirms our belief in architecture as a way of shaping everyday experiences with care, imagination and responsibility, and not just drawing nice plans.

It is also a reminder that the role of architects today extends beyond form making, to listening, collaborating and navigating the very human realities behind every project. We are grateful to be alongside peers whose work we admire, and whose practices continue to expand what architecture in Singapore can be, and who it is for.

For us, this is encouragement to stay curious, keep things humane, and continue building with a sense of joy.

ID038 | Dwelling of Hues

At the heart of the brief was the desire for functionality: a larger kitchen, ample storage, and a work loft. But beyond utility, the clients brought with them a rich palette of personal tastes, emotional affinities with colour, and a growing collection of artworks. This formed the foundation for a home conceived as a living gallery, immersive, expressive, and deeply personal.
