Bedtime giggles & warm toasty feet = sweetest travel ritual ever 🩷✨

When we’re on holiday in cold weather, I love using the hairdryer to gently warm my girls’ soles and upper backs (over socks + clothing, low heat only!)
It’s a simple, TCM-inspired way to help them feel cosy, relaxed, and ready for sleep - and they ALWAYS end up giggling and rolling around in bed 🤭💗

A tiny hack that makes cold nights feel extra magical ✨❄️

Save this for your next winter trip!

*Disclaimer: This is a personal, TCM-inspired wellness ritual I use with my children. It is not medical advice. Always use gentle heat and seek medical treatment if your child is unwell.

Today, we’re exploring Bu D**g (补冬), the beautiful Chinese tradition of Winter Nourishment. It’s about consciously caring for yourself by setting aside time to build gentle, lasting warmth from the inside out.

The goal isn’t just to feel warm, but to feel replenished - to quietly strengthen your energy and blood (what they like to term in TCM 气血) so you can move through your days with calm vitality.

This soup is especially kind to those who feel easily chilled or fatigued. Consider it a warm hug for your whole system.

Sending you quiet strength and comfort today.

⚠️This recipe is specifically not recommended for children, pregnant women, or breastfeeding mothers, and should only be used under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.

🌿 Today, I’m sharing a gentle ritual that helped me through a heavy season of my life. It is something I still practice now.

For a long time, my body was in survival mode. Constant stress, sleepless nights, and the emotional weight of burnout compounded by a year of infertility made me feel disconnected, tight, and always anxious.

My body simply forgot how to relax.

The turning point wasn’t a grand gesture or a huge life overhaul. It was a simple, nightly 10 minutes warm foot soak.

This practice is scientifically grounding and energetically nourishing. The warm water sends a profound signal to your nervous system: You are safe now.

If you are burnt out, overwhelmed, or just carrying a heavy load right now, please try this ritual.

Healing doesn’t have to start with big, dramatic changes - sometimes, it starts with warm water and two tired feet.

✨ Gentle Nourishment for Little Ones - The Power of Chinese Yam (山药 / 淮山)

Chinese Yam is known as a mild, sweet root that strengthens the Spleen, nourishes Qi, and supports healthy growth.

💛 Benefits for Children:
• Improves digestion and nutrient absorption (great for picky or small eaters)
• Strengthens immunity and energy levels
• Helps in easing both loose stools and constipation
• Nourishes the Lungs and Kidneys, supporting long-term vitality

👩‍🍳 How to Use:
Add a few slices of dried 淮山 to congee, porridge, or soup. It blends naturally with grains and beans - gentle enough for toddlers yet deeply strengthening.

🌾 I usually pair it with rice, black beans, or walnuts for a warm, kidney-nourishing congee - perfect for growing bodies and busy little minds.

💖 Nourishing Peach Gum & Watermelon Delight 🍉

Stop scrolling and start glowing! This isn’t just a dessert; it’s your new skin-loving, collagen-boosting obsession.

We take the ancient goodness of peach gum (桃胶) known for its incredible skin benefits - and mix it with hydrating watermelon and a swirl of creamy yogurt.

💡 Pro Tip: You can use any creamy yogurt, but my kids absolutely love .sg for that perfect texture.

It’s the ultimate light, cooling treat that helps you hydrate from within and feel completely refreshed. Eat dessert, feel amazing.

As Singapore enters a cooler and wetter phase, our bodies begin to shift too. Energy slows, warmth fades, and immunity can drop if we don’t care for it mindfully.

Many of us love our iced coffee and bubble tea, but during this season, cold drinks can dampen our digestive fire and weaken the spleen qi.

💛 Choose warmth instead - soothing teas, porridge, soups, and gentle movement.
💆‍♀️ Support your circulation and inner balance with 2 key acupoints:

1. Zusanli (ST36 / 足三里) - strengthens qi, aids digestion, boosts resilience
2. Tixia (踢下) - relaxes tension in the legs and improves energy flow

Press each point for 1 to 2 minutes a day and breathe deeply. It’s a simple way to stay grounded as the weather shifts.

🌿 Next post, I’ll be sharing simple warming recipes to nourish your qi for the cold season ahead. Stay tuned 💛

Lately, I’ve found myself really slowing down.
After so long of doing, doing, doing - chasing what I thought was purpose - I began to feel lost. So I started undoing. Unlearning. Unraveling.

And slowly, I realized.. in this undoing, there’s space for something deeper to grow. It’s not about finding purpose through effort, but through peace.

A close friend recently visited a temple and selflessly shared these words by Master Hong Yi.

“Those with gentle tempers carry deep blessings and live joyfully.
Those with harsh tempers carry shallow blessings and live in pain.
All the fortune one has in life is hidden within one’s temperament.

Do not let your temper block your blessings.

Anger arises from a lack of magnanimity.
Jealousy arises from a lack of excellence.
Sadness arises from a lack of strength.
Despair arises when the heart is unable to let go.
Anxiety arises from a lack of composure.

What you cling on to will torment you.
Remember this-
When anger arises, ten thousand obstacles appear.
When compassion arises, ten thousand lotuses bloom.”

Maybe the middle ground I’ve been seeking…
is when letting go becomes power,
and calm becomes clarity.

✨ Chanting is not about religion. It’s about calmness and clarity. ✨

Each sound we release carries intention and compassion that calms and clears the mind and the heart.

In Buddhism, chanting is a way to align our inner energy with wisdom and compassion - but you don’t have to be a Buddhist to chant. Just like how deep breathing exercises benefit everyone regardless of belief, chanting helps anyone reconnect with the simple joy of being, not doing.

Peace doesn’t belong to just one faith. It belongs to every heart that remembers how to listen.

🕊️ Today, may your voice become your peace.
