เมื่อวาน ขณะรอช่างไฟทำงาน
ไม่รู้จะทำอะไร เลยนั่งมอเตอร์ไซค์ไปบ้านจิม ทอมป์สันอีกครั้ง

คราวนี้ตั้งใจฟังเวอร์ชันภาษาอังกฤษ
เพื่อดูว่า นักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติ เค้ามองและรู้สึกกับสถานที่นี้ยังไง

พอกลับไปซ้ำในที่เดิม
เราพบว่า ความชอบของคนเราในแต่ละวัย มันเปลี่ยนไปจริง ๆ

เมื่อก่อน เวลาเข้าพิพิธภัณฑ์ เรามักสงสัยว่า
คนเค้ายืนดูภาพเดิมได้นานขนาดนั้นได้ยังไง
ทำไมสถานที่แบบนี้ถึงน่าสนใจ

ตอนเด็ก เราชอบมองภาพใหญ่
ชอบของชิ้นใหญ่ ชอบอะไรที่โดดเด่น เท่ แปลกใหม่
อยากไปที่ไกล ๆ
อยากทำอะไรที่ไม่มีใครทำ

แต่พอโตขึ้น
พื้นที่ที่เราอยากสำรวจ กลับเล็กลงเรื่อย ๆ

เราเริ่มก้มมองรายละเอียดเล็ก ๆ
เริ่มสนใจว่า คนทำกำลังคิดอะไรอยู่
ทำไมเค้าถึงเลือกวัสดุแบบนี้
ทำไมถึงชอบสีนี้
ทำไมถึงเก็บรายละเอียดแบบนี้ไว้

เหมือนประสบการณ์ที่ผ่านมา
ค่อย ๆ สอนให้เราเข้าใจว่า
การเดินทางที่ช้าลง
และการค่อย ๆ รับรู้ความรู้สึกของผู้สร้างสรรค์ผ่านวัตถุแต่ละชิ้น
มันลึกซึ้งกว่าที่เคยเข้าใจตอนเด็กมาก

ครั้งนี้กลับไป
เราแทบไม่ได้มองภาพรวมของอาคารเลย

แต่กลับหยุดอยู่กับวัสดุ
รอยต่อ
งานไม้
ผ้า
ของสะสมชิ้นเล็ก ๆ
และรายละเอียดประณีตที่ซ่อนอยู่ในนั้นมากกว่า

งานผ้าของร้านเรา
ร่วมดีไซน์กับช่างฝีมือจากอีสาน

ผสมผสานระหว่างไหมอีรี่
ไหมจุง
และขนแกะจากออสเตรเลีย

เราเริ่มต้นจากงานผืนเล็ก ๆ
มีเพียงไม่กี่ผืนในช่วงแรก
ค่อย ๆ เรียนรู้และพัฒนาไปพร้อมกับวัสดุที่เราชอบ

One of the places I really like on Koh Chang

I would recommend Dinso Resort & Villas Ko Chang, Vignette Collection by IHG

“Dinso” in Thai means pencil

The space is built around natural materials
mostly real wood, with visible textures and traces of use

even small details like the zinc lamps
feel thoughtfully designed

there’s something very calming about the atmosphere

the natural stone on the ground
creates beautiful patterns
I really love that part

there is also a workshop space
for hands-on activities

and one of the best things
you can stay here with your dog
but not cats

the beachfront here may not be as striking
as Klong Prao Beach near Centara

but just to the side
near The Dewa Koh Chang
there’s a stretch where you can walk

quiet, slow, and easy
really enjoyable

Today, a woman from Austria came into the shop

She stayed for quite a while
just slowly looking at everything
She told me she loved everything here
that the shop has a certain charm
a feeling
something that made her feel good

I didn’t ask her much
but I could tell
she understands design
she sees things in a similar way I do

She’s older
but still carries herself with so much care
still very beautiful in her own way
and in that moment
I understood why she connected with everything here

At this age
I feel lucky

to start understanding what really brings happiness
how objects, materials
and small details
can shape emotions
memories
and the feeling of a home

I’m glad I found this now
so I can share it with others
there’s still so much I want to do
so many things

but what I feel most right now
is a quiet kind of happiness
being able to share something Thai
something made with care
with people who come from far away

you make me feel proud of where I come from
and you make this small place feel alive.
