So very grateful that ✨ Lily Pads & Tadpoles ✨ has found its place on the wall in the beautiful new home of .diprose and . 💚

I love imagining this joyful painting becoming a companion to Joanna as she creates her own magic through art…two creative worlds sharing the same space, inspiring and encouraging one another.

✨ Lily Pads & Tadpoles ✨ is part of my Unfurling Collection that celebrates my childhood memories of the little pond that could hold an entire universe of fascination. The organic “diamond-oval” shapes that dance across the canvas are a recurring motif throughout the collection and takes place everywhere in nature. Here, they become little fragments of a pond world: lily pads, tadpoles, splashes of light and tiny creatures in joyful motion.

Ultimately the painting is about the sheer delight of discovering a small, magical world right in front of you. May it bring much whimsy and colour to Joanne and Cassie’s new chapter! 🌿✨

Just unwrapped my soft pastel boxes and did some abstract sketches. Glad my packing was impeccable and the fragile pastels are all intact! Even though I’m still in transition and doesn’t have my own studio space yet and my canvases will arrive later but very grateful I can stay at my sister’s and can doodle freely. Super honored that ✨Twilight Reverie ✨ is going to its new home in Dallas Texas with John And Susie. I’m especially grateful for our instant connection and blossoming friendship during their trip to New Zealand. I am very inspired by their mission charity work in Columbia. I look forward to go to their village to teach kids and community leaders art in the future! 🙌🎊🥳🌸🤗❤️

John loves the contrast of deep blue and rust orange in the painting that depicts the magical moment in Milford Sound, one of my most favorite places in NZ! Using abstract simplified shapes to emphasize the forms of the landscape is specially fun and satisfying!

This has been a special season of rawness and tenderness to me. And I feel my mini raw canvas works perfectly captured the exquisite comfort and beauty you need in a time or world when you feel somewhat tumultuous or uncertain. I love the rugged edges, the spontaneous excitement and the whimsical play in these works.

These mini works were preparation studies for my larger works and then thoughtfully refined and presented as work on their own. They are my most immediate and intimate pieces and offer a glimpse into my practice.

I’m delighted to be part of a group show at in New Plymouth.

✨Undersized✨ is a curated exhibition celebrating intimate scale and powerful detail. The impact of a piece of art isn’t determined by size — it’s found in precision, story, and presence. I have six works on the wall currently and will share more with you later. 🌸

The show features 20+NZ artists. It’s on now to 29 March.
