Spot of Color

Just wrapped up my last scheduled fall window! It's been a busy few weeks.

Who's ready for Christmas? 😆 But seriously, if you are wanting some Christmas Pizzazz on your windows reach out in the next couple of weeks to secure your spot! Scheduling priority always goes to my repeat clients and those who get on the list early.

This weekend I was gifted the opportunity to take a Kyle Buckland plein air workshop. Unfortunately the rain situation made the outside part a little tricky but we got one good outdoor session and I chose to work from a reference for the second session.

I learned so much and can officially claim oil paint as another medium I can paint in! It will be a long road until I am completely confident but this is an excellent start!

Oil painting outside is so much easier than any of the other paint mediums I have tried. It's a wonderful experience and Kyle was an amazing teacher giving you a good place to start and letting you take off with your own style and skills. What an experience!

Another set of fall windows! The dried corn stalks were really fun to paint.

This one is out in Marion on Main St.

If you are wondering why it has been so quiet over here... In July I got to go on a trip of a lifetime to Kenya. These are some watercolors I painted while I was there. I hope you enjoy!

Next up is a pretty exciting announcement. I have to wait a couple weeks before the reveal but it is going to keep me VERY busy!

I am back with a bang at First Community Bank on Main St. in Abingdon! Go Abingdon Falcons!

It was a blast working across the street from a fellow artist, Heidi Nisbett. We got a moment to chat about murals and the install of her work on the Zephyr Antiques building. All of it was painted in her studio on special cloth then glued to the wall like wallpaper. It looks great. She will be touching up seams and other scuffed spots over the next couple days.
