It’s not sweater weather yet, BUTTTT it’s just around the corner 😍🔥

Fall's on the clock — and the countdown might surprise you.
Based on decades of Birmingham data, here's what typically comes first:

🔻First high below 70° — October 1 (77 days away)
🟦First morning low in the 50s — October 1 (77 days away)
🟣First night below 40° — October 19 (95 days away)
🔸Halloween — October 31 (107 days away)
🦃Thanksgiving — November 26 (133 days away)
🎄Christmas Day — December 25 (162 days away)

A quick reality check before anyone packs away the shorts: numbers reflect the average FIRST occurrence — not the point cooler air settles in for good. A stray 90° day can still sneak in after milestones hit. (We've been above 90 a few times in early October and even above 100 degrees back in 2019!)

Location matters too. Huntsville, Gadsden, Cullman, and the Shoals usually feel the cooldown a few days earlier. Montgomery, Auburn, Greenville, and Mobile typically wait a bit longer for relief.
