Pinch me !!! Our living room at Project Piscataway was featured in VERANDA Magazine 🤩

I chatted with them about how using picture rails to hang art can instantly make your living room feel more expensive. Whether you’re hanging estate sale finds or an original, they make every piece feel like a masterpiece.

Originally, I thought of the idea for two reasons. First, I wanted to block the distracting view out of two windows, so I used a mirror and artwork hung by chains to do so.

Second, my client has an INCREDIBLE, ever-growing art collection, so by using these chains, she can swap out art as she keeps collecting new favorites. Her collection was mostly made up of auction and estate sale finds with higher end originals mixed in.

I just love how it is such a high/low mix and yet the picture rail makes the look as a whole feel tailored and expensive.

It’s officially fall, so I’m officially depressed 🄲

Just kidding, I’m not that dramatic, but I really am a bask-in-the-sun, sand in my toes type of girl.

Anyways, it’s fall now, so I’m finally sharing the paint colors from one of my favorite projects. Terracotta accents, earthy tones, inspired by a painting my clients commissioned.

I call the palette ā€œdusty,ā€ and it’s my go-to trick for using a lot of color without it feeling like too much.

Full breakdown, every color and brand, room by room, is up on The Back Room. Comment PAINT and I’ll send you the link directly.

Not every project is a gut renovation. I absolutely love taking on furnishings projects too - which usually involves switching up paint colors, lighting, and adding built-ins or millwork as well.

I love when your house already has amazing bones. It gives me a great story to start with and I weave your unique personality through that storybook. It’s part of my job to help decide what stays and what goes.

This particular project was uber traditional. Although CVD is rooted in traditional design, we also love weaving in modern touches.

There’s no single ā€˜look’ I chase. My goal is always to put your personality into the space. You’ll see a CVD thread running through my work, but you’ll never see the same room twice - I can promise you that

If you’re interested in a full-service furnishings project, I am accepting a Spring 2027 waitlist. Inquire through link in bio

Comment SITE VISIT to use my interactive checklist!

Showing up so you don’t have to!! My clients are typically working moms and dads who are way too busy to worry about the wall of their shower being 3ā€ off from the original design. Which, by the way, happened once - and would have caused the bathtub to be too close to the vanity - which would have been too little clearance - which would mean ripping out all the plumbing to be redone - which would have delayed the project and cost loads of money to bring the plumber back DAHH. Good thing we caught it beforehand during framing!!!!

This is why I require weekly site visits for all our local renovation projects.

You can now purchase our very own checklist (customizable for your firm) - Comment SITE VISIT for the link and DM me with any questions. I’m really trying to make live improvements based on everyone’s feedback!

I refuse to give up having a beautiful home while raising kids.

And I personally don’t want to sacrifice nice things for cheap ones that only last a few years. Even the smallest accessories contribute to the overall design and feeling of my home, and those surroundings inspire me. I want to create an enviornment for my kids to grow up in that they love and one day cherish

Me and all my boys !!!!! 🩵🩵

Bennett Joseph Back arrived on July 24th and my boy mom heart couldn’t be more full

Dedicating the remainder of this year to be present for this special, fleeting time. I started my own firm for this very reason before my kids ever stepped foot into the world. Thankful every day for this beautiful life and for my new family of 4! 🫶

I’ve been diving into where I source furniture as an interior designer over on Substack. It’s a hot topic because surprise surprise, I don’t source from Restoration Hardware or Pottery Barn or any of those big retail brands you may be familiar with. Today, I’m breaking down some of my favorite places to buy beds specifically (retail and trade vendors) including this incredible canopy bed at

This might be a little controversial… but as a professional interior designer, I do very little shopping at big box stores šŸ™ˆ Why? Because we have access to so many unique vendors and trade resources that go way beyond what you’ll find here. It’s all about creating spaces that feel super personal and one-of-a-kind ✨

So here’s where I shop for furniture as a professional designer. Subscribe to my Substack for more insider tips. Lots more sources to share ā¤ļø
