, the wood of scholars and kings! We've got a lot of it in the shop right now, so what better subject for Insider 8? Rosewood is a beautiful and rare material coveted for its rich color and dramatic black grain, especially when it forms its signature "cathedral" patterns. We've got some incredible pieces on the floor (pictured in slide 3) including some gorgeous shelves, a pair of exquisite low tables, and an amazing buffet – all in Brazilian rosewood, the most desirable kind, and all exhibiting that gorgeous cathedral pattern only the very best rosewood can produce. Come check it out in person, because rosewood is a rare commodity: you'll never know your next chance to see some, let alone purchase it!

Here's a real piece of DC history at Evolution Home, a lithograph from a run of only 25 by DC artist Phillip Ratner! Ratner was a teacher for decades in southeast DC before starting his career in sculpture, where he became known as the "Norman Rockwell of Bronze" for his humanizing bronze sculptures of immigrants. His work has been featured at the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, the US Supreme Court, Ellis Island, and the Vatican.

It's not every day you get to view (or own!) one of his serigraphs. Come check this one out at Evolution Home!
