If you’ve recently bought or refinanced your home, watch out for letters, postcards, or robocalls claiming you need to renew or purchase a “home warranty.”
Red flags to watch for:
🚩Mail designed to look like it’s from a mortgage company or government agency
🚩 Urgent language like “FINAL NOTICE” or “ACT NOW” to renew coverage
🚩They already know your address, loan information, or home purchase date (pulled from county records)
🚩Pressure to pay immediately over the phone or by mailing a check
🚩Vague or nonexistent company names when you ask questions
