I found so much great produce and other goodies at the Clarke County Farmers Market this morning! We didn’t get a garden this year so this will help me fill our pantry with more food to get through the winter. The hail storms were pretty devastating to so many in our area, so I am really grateful to those who were able to salvage their gardens or were spared from the damaging storms.

FINALLY!!!

After several years of trial… and LOTS of error, I finally have a beautiful loaf of gluten-free sourdough bread! And I am SO excited!

My last trip to the store for gluten-free bread left me with some serious sticker shock!😳 The price has gone up significantly just in the last two weeks, and I am NOT willing to pay that for store bought bread.

Gluten-free bread has always been my Achilles heel. I’ve fought with it for years, but I think I finally won!

We made toast with it this morning, and it was absolutely delicious! It could use a little more “sour,” but honestly, I am thrilled with how it turned out. It has a nice, crunchy crust and a soft, chewy texture inside.

After all those failed loaves, this feels like a big victory and I’ll definitely be making another loaf today!

You better believe gluten-free sourdough bread is going to be added to my list of sourdough items I will be baking for the Farmer’s Market next year! ❤️❤️❤️

I’m finally breaking in my **new All American 941!** 🎉🫙

I’ve been using Presto canners for years, mostly because of the cost, but they were also costing me something even more valuable… TIME!!

Having to run multiple batches could take up an entire day. Now, with the All American 941, I can run one batch and be done!

I’m pretty sure this is going to make canning season SO much better! ❤️

Here’s to more food in the pantry and more time to enjoy life. 💕

We have eggs! Lots and lots of eggs!

There’s a lot of work that goes into canning, but it’s worth every minute when your pantry is full of food to feed your family.
This week’s canning was spiced peach jam. 36 jars done!!

Some of my favorite recipes live in cookbooks and guides that have seen better days. The covers are worn, the pages are loose, and they've been splattered with years of homemade meals. Those stains tell a story. Some of them I remember exactly what I was making that recipe for. ❤️

Instead of replacing them, I give them a second life!

I slip the entire cookbook into a simple 3-ring binder. It keeps every page together so nothing gets lost and I don't have to worry about another favorite recipe falling out.

I add a stack of notebook paper in the back of the binder so I can jot down notes for changes I've made to recipes, canning notes and processing reminders, family favorites, or something new I want to try. This comes in very handy when I am converting a recipe to gluten free.

This is a simple, inexpensive way to preserve not only your recipes, but the memories that come with them.

Some cookbooks aren't just recipe books... they're your family heirlooms.

Do you have a cookbook that's held together with love and memories? I'd love to hear which one you'll never part with!
