Laundry Room Refresh - Redo Complete! Took it from builders grade and built my own customized cabinets and layout to fit my life. Added organization, cabinets and pullouts. Still have a few things to complete (lighting fixture and a few decorative and organizational items! But it's done! Building my own cabinets was quite the learning process and while they aren't professional by any means… I'm proud of myself for trying! 🙏💪 Next Project - Primary Closet

I wanted to practice putting up drywall, building cabinets, customizing built-in areas, and laying hardware floors, so I decided to give this all a shot in a space that needed some work but wasn’t super noticeable… So Bee’s Cat Room got an upgrade! We needed to better accommodate our family’s needs in there anyway, so it was a win/win.

One of the issues was the space, and how cramped and difficult to access the area underneath the stairs was… so I framed in that awkward corner and added a built-in litter box underneath with a walkway (yes… it, too, got hardwood floors).

The second Issue was order, and trash, so we built a pull-out trash can that looked like part of the paneling. I still have a few finishing touches to add.

And then I added a custom cat feeding station and a little cat play area with a wall of cat scratching pads

I added air vents for circulation, and he has a fun little fan for more air.

I also added some custom storage for dry cat food, trash bags, litter, an extra litter bin, toys, etc.

I want to do a mid-century theme, so I created a ledge to hide his water bowl and add a little decoration and style. I used spindles from an old table to create the separation.

I made him a bed out of a charcuterie board I made years ago and some bun feet.

I added a few more mid-century touches with some wood wall art I had in the house, some rugs, laid hardwood floors, updated the lighting… and, of course, ART.

I did the drywalling, and that was my least favorite part! 🥱🫣

I think it turned out really cute!

I added some before pictures, some during the process, and the final product! 🥰

Bee loves it! 😻😸😺

Other than a few decorative things, installation of a ceiling fan and a fixing a few discrepancies…

Project Master Bedroom Refresh is complete!

I Included a “cove “ In order to frame the bed / headboard, I added a half panel with picture ledge to add depth and bring In more of the “green” color Into our room so It wasn’t just an accent wall. I stained and added trim frame around our window to bring in more of the wood tones and give It a more finished look, I created a TV frame so It would loon more like a picture and I created a frame for our painting above the bed… so I added quite a few design pieces.

Here are a few before, during and after pictures.

Next stop… Master Bedroom Closet! It’s time to customize it to better fit our needs!

It’s the end of another year… and this year was particularly hard for me.

It was the end of an era.

I had to go through a lot of realizations and loss… and grief. It was hard.

I did it anyway.

I lost friends. I lost parents. I lost family.. I lost my ability to trust.. I lost me.

But I sat In that .. I allowed it all to burn to the ground.

I survived.

I took what was still left… in all of the rubble and ash.

And Im rebuilding It.

People may think that my passion to build Is to produce a tangible project but that Is the very least of my desire to take something that has been devalued by others and bring It back to life… reminding It and vicariously myself who/what the f**k It truly brings to this world! My desire Is to heal whilst also giving. Because I am both teacher and student.

Damage does not equate to ruin… I have always been attracted to the scarred, worn and bruised of the world …. To me that is what makes it beautiful. The “despite”.

Despite everything you’ve been through … you are still here.

So… being that I am closing out a new chapter of my life… I wanted to take a moment to reflect and show immense gratitude for all of you . Thank you for your support and encouragement and for being part of my becoming…

I know that the next 9 years are going to be fruitful and I am excited to continue to heal through creation.

…Do It Anyway !!!!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on this page. I took a break to help my husband with his business and while I certainly did do projects, I didn’t really have time to post them.

During my time there, I had the great pleasure of designing their office break room and the reception area.

At home I did some updates on our house… the firepit area, the garage (I’m still working on it) I updated both of our guest rooms, Installed some lighting In our stairwell and in que i have our master bedroom remodel, finishing off the garage, the laundry room and the last bathroom… I will post those as I finish them.

In the meantime, here are a few photos of some of the projects I have completed in the past year.

Yesterday we finally delivered the last piece of the project I was working on for a client. She is an expectant mother who wanted to repair, restore and refinish her childhood crib and dresser.

It was a super sweet and unique project that I was so excited to be a part of…

It did require some patience and new skills because it had to be dry stripped, hand sanded and the products had to be non toxic.

However, I think it turned out really good and it an excited to sleep in today! 😆❤️

The first picture is what She envisioned, the next photos are the process photos and then the befores and the final products!

I don’t have a photo of the crib put together because they are doing that there.

Finally finished and will be delivering the last part of the project that I’m working on for a client.

I’m excited to see it all put back together!

I will post photos after it’s completed.

In the meantime, I’ll share a couple of fun little project I made for our holiday party!

I made this tree out of a deconstructed Christmas tree and a mannequin dress form and I made a last minute champagne wall stand… I definitely see a few tweaks I want to make on it for the future.

I’m also working on my own projects.., Operation Winter Wonderland!

I can wait to show everyone my Christmas Explosion!

I absolutely love Christmas.

I hung my own lights on the house this year and I have a new found appreciation for roofers. I’m not afraid of heights but I never considered that they have to think about a fighting for their life because of WASPS. I did get stung by one but the rest are gone. Hanging lights on a roof with a can of wasp killer was an interesting way to spend a weekend! 😆

I’m super excited to be nearing the end of a job on refinishing a really special project for a client.

She expecting her first child and I get the absolute pleasure of repairing, refinishing and refurbishing her childhood crib and dresser.

It’s such a special feeling to be a part of a mother watching her daughter become a mother and the nostalgia that comes with that…

It was especially heartwarming to find stuck in the back of the dresser a tiny little bag that contained a tiny little first tooth. ❤️

I will happily share before and afters once I deliver and set up the project but I want my client to be the first person who sees it. ❤️

It’s been an interesting learning experience as I research and learn how to work with nontoxic painting materials and the different materials that I can use to make sure Baby is safe and well! ❤️
