A friend gave me freshly picked cherries, so I turned them into vegan hand pies.

This was my first time working with puff pastry, and I spent the evening learning as I went. Walking to the grocery store for ingredients. Mulching the front garden. Planting olive trees. Pitting cherries at nearly midnight. Folding each pie by hand.

These were made as a thank-you gift for someone who showed me kindness recently, and I think that made them taste even better. šŸ’š

I store folded blankets in my nightstands. It’s a great storage solution for a small home. But I didn’t want to see folded linens all the time. So I sewed little curtains to hide my storage.
But once the curtains were up, I realized the bed needed to change too.
I removed the gingham sheets and replaced them with classic white sheets from .
A quieter foundation so my vintage Waverly fabric can shine.✨
This is what I teach in Style Sanctuary, my home and style app. It’s not always about adding more.
Sometimes it’s about knowing what to take away.

Do you use whatever you have at home to make patterns too?ļæ½I didn’t have a large roll of paper, so I recycled grocery store bags for this project. The oval fits the bench seat perfectly.
Next step, tracing onto fabric to make a cushion cover and insert.
This is the same kind of thinking I built into Style Sanctuary, my home and style app. Using what you have, making small shifts, and creating something that fits your life.

Spring always makes me look at my home differently. The light changes. The energy shifts. And I start to notice what feels heavy.

This room didn’t need a full redesign. It needed one small shift. I sold the old bench and brought in something with a little more soul. An antique that feels lighter.

That’s how my home evolves. Slowly. And every time I make one of these changes, something shifts internally too. This is how I live in my home, my wardrobe, my daily life. It all comes from the same place.

Style Sanctuary is where I’ve gathered that process. A process you can step into, exactly where you are.

I built something.
Over the past few months, I’ve been working on an app called Style Sanctuary.
It’s designed for anyone who feels like their home doesn’t quite reflect them. Maybe it feels cluttered, unfinished, or you just don’t know where to start.
This is the system I wish I had. A way to take what you already have and turn it into a space that feels calm, cohesive, and like you.
It’s live now. You can explore it here: studio.com/denise/style-sanctuary

Please help me spread the word. Share this with someone who’s ready for a fresh start this season.

I created a multipurpose studio where creativity and storage must sit side by side.
It wasn’t messy.ļæ½Everything had a place.
But it was still asking my eyes to hold too much.
It needed a boundary.
Now this space can be two things at once.ļæ½A place to store.ļæ½And a place to think.

For three years, this space was just storage.

This year, I felt ready to turn it into a studio. A place for all of my making.

I’ve always dreamed of having a space separate from the house. And now, it’s real.

It’s a zero-budget studio, furnished slowly with secondhand pieces I sourced for free.

It’s not finished. But I’m okay with that.

I want to share it as it is, so you can be part of the process as it slowly comes together over the next few months.
