Sometimes something made with your own hands ends up touching hearts in ways you never imagined. ❤️
A sweet customer reached out and asked me to create something special for her friend who had just lost her husband, and from the moment I began reading about his life, I found myself deeply moved by the kind of man he was. A builder of homes, businesses, and best of all... family and community. A man who loved Virginia deeply and poured so much into the lives of others, especially within the special needs community. As a mom of a special needs son, that part touched my heart in a very personal way.
Every memorial piece I create carries so much thought behind it, but this one felt especially meaningful.
I chose the window frame sign with the cardinal looking through it because he was a builder, and I wanted that window to symbolize the many homes, spaces, and foundations he helped create throughout his life. Something about the cardinal quietly watching over the arrangement through that window just felt meaningful to me. I added another cardinal nestled into the flowers, almost like one presence reflecting another. The magnolias, berries, greenery, and rich reds all came together to tell a story of strength, love, legacy, and home.
Then this morning, I received the sweetest message... This arrangement was displayed on the stage during a graduation ceremony last night as a symbol of his presence there. 🥹
I honestly sat here overwhelmed with emotion reading that.
Sometimes God gently reminds you that something made with your own hands can become part of someone’s healing, memory, comfort, and story.
It was truly an honor to create this for their family and it's a design that I'll not soon forget.
