š¤ The time has come š¤
Some people dream of becoming astronauts, some of working on Wall Street. Iāve always dreamed of marrying I man I admire greatly, filling our home with wily children, and of spending my days swimming in a sea of paint swatches and rich fabrics, praying that my work would be featured in magazines and gain the respect of the design heroes Iāve so admired. What a wild and precious gift to see these dreams come true , particularly through the launching of Gibbs House over these past 3 years. Aaron is undoubtedly the real MVP, making every one of my visions come to life and working his tail off into the wee hours, skipping vacations, and grinding out success with his bare hands. It has been amazing for our kids to watch, to gain business vocabulary, sales skills, to build in the workshop, and, of course, to witness their parents practicing conflict resolution skills over and over š¤£! It has been, more than anything, so very humbling to see support come out of the woodwork from the most incredible community and clients. We are so, so rich for knowing you.
And now it is time for our family to embrace the mission of Gibbs House in our own lives: to resist the grind, to disconnect with busyness and reconnect with the things that matter most, to practice Sabbath rest⦠walking at the pace of Jesus.
This past July of 2025 Aaron accepted the unexpected honor to serve as a high school principal and we have, for the past year, grinded to keep Gibbs House growing and to make time as a family. In May we decided to stop taking orders for the foreseeable future and to put our beloved business on pause.
Perhaps it was just a season. Perhaps sheāll be cranking again before we know it. Either way, our hands are open and our family will never be the same. š¤
