Hey Athens! I'm Justin McRae, owner and operator of Modern Concrete. I wanted to take a moment to personally introduce myself.
You've probably eaten dinner at one of my bartops around town, sat on a bench I've made, or washed your hands in a sink I created from scratch.
I was born and raised in Georgia, and my hands have always been my biggest asset. My entrepreneurial journey has been alive and well since before I could drive — from flipping BlackBerry Pearls on eBay and Craigslist, to welding, metal fabrication, automotive restoration, and fine woodworking.
At 22, I dropped out of college and pursued a life in off-road racing, which was short-lived thanks to one night at the Winder dirt track — where I met my future wife, Patti, and mother of our four wonderful girls.
My wife and kids have shaped how I live and how I run Modern Concrete. My commitment is to always provide kind, trustworthy, honest, and beautiful elements for not only your home, but your life.
My first job was for a family in Oconee County, a few short weeks after cashing in Grandma's savings bonds to start Modern Concrete. Patti had just resigned from teaching to stay home with our first daughter while we charted a new path for our family. I remember the excitement, nerves, and gratitude I felt as we rolled a massive 400-lb concrete island down a steep, curved sidewalk.
Today, Modern Concrete is equipped with the best tools in the industry, a decade of trade-specific knowledge, and a lifetime foundation of blue-collar skills, grit, and drive to serve and represent our community as best as I can.
I've proudly expanded my services to include:
Concrete Outdoor Kitchens
Outdoor Kitchen Installations
Integrated Concrete Sinks
Kitchen Countertops
Concrete Conference Tables
Commercial Bartops
Seamless Shower Panels
Thank you for supporting Modern Concrete — it truly means the world to be nearly a decade in, because of a community that believes in what I do and stand for.
If you have a project in mind, I'd love to help bring your vision to life.
As a small thank you for the support, I'm offering 10% off your next project with Modern Concrete through November 1st — just mention this post.
