It truly pains me to write this, but after shedding tears over it, I need to share my experience to move on.
We chose The Distillery of Modern Art for our wedding because of my past connection as an artist at their Watson Gallery. The space was beautiful, and our coordinator, Becky, went above and beyond for us. But despite six months of planning, poor communication from Henry Rosenbaum turned what should have been a seamless day into an experience I wouldn’t wish on any couple.
From the venue not being ready at our contracted start time to guests feeling pushed out early due to behind-the-scenes conversations we were never informed of—our wedding reception didn’t unfold as planned. Even worse, my sister was wrongfully charged $750 at the bar, and accountability was nowhere to be found afterward.
Never received an apology. Not even my security deposit back.
I’m not here to bash DoMA, but I am here to be honest. If you book here, be crystal clear about communication, expectations, and who should be contacted. Otherwise, you risk the same disappointment we faced.
I just wanted to celebrate love. Instead, I was left with heartbreak. Please share this with others so we can hold them accountable 🙏🏾
