Shhh… I’ve been building something.
And, ironically, the first thing I’m building doesn’t have walls.
No groundbreaking photo. No ribbon to cut. No keys in my hand. I cannot even show you the piece of land yet—because part of the work ahead is finding it.
But I can finally say this:
I’m building in Costa Rica.
For some time, Chasity and I have been quietly carrying, questioning, researching, refining and developing what has become ∀LCHƎMY | Costa Rica—a regenerative luxury wellness and hospitality destination envisioned for Costa Rica’s South Caribbean.
It is an ambitious project. Maybe the most ambitious thing I have undertaken thus far. And somehow, the deeper I get into it, the less it feels like ambition for ambition’s sake.
It feels like alignment.
∀LCHƎMY is being imagined around a simple but demanding question: What if extraordinary hospitality could create extraordinary rest and beauty for the people who visit it while also being in right relationship with the land, culture, community and people who make its existence possible?
That question is shaping everything—from architecture, wellness and food to regenerative agriculture, botanical production, local sourcing, art, culture, equestrian experiences and the relationships we hope to build with Costa Rican growers, makers, professionals, artisans, entrepreneurs and communities.
And now, something has shifted.
The vision has entered active predevelopment.
The professional infrastructure is forming in Costa Rica and the United States. Institutional and regional conversations are advancing. Site identification is underway. Legal and development strategy is moving forward.
And soon, Chasity and I will board a plane for Costa Rica for our first formal site-selection and predevelopment diligence mission.
We are going to look at land—but also to listen.
To understand the roads, water, terrain, communities, distances, rhythms and realities that no rendering can tell us. To meet people. To experience the South Caribbean not simply as visitors, but through the eyes of people asking whether this could become home.
We hope to return having identified the place where ∀LCHƎMY belongs.
And while we are there, we will also be looking for something much more personal: the place Chasity and I could temporarily call home while we do the work of bringing this one into the world.
There is something beautifully ironic about being a real-estate developer and announcing a development before I can give you an address.
But perhaps that is exactly the point.
Responsible development should begin before the land is purchased. Before deciding what can be extracted from a place, there should be a willingness to understand what is already there. Before designing the buildings, understand the land. Before invoking culture, build relationships. Before promising an outcome, do the diligence.
So, no—I don’t own the land yet.
We haven’t broken ground.
The financing isn't complete. The architecture isn't final. There are still feasibility questions to answer, professionals to assemble, sites to evaluate and a thousand decisions between this announcement and opening a door to the first guest.
And I want to share some of that journey—not pretend those steps don't exist.
Because this is what building looks like, too.
Sometimes the first construction materials are a vision, a set of drawings, an uncomfortable number of questions, a passport, relationships, professional counsel, a plane ticket—and the audacity to go find the place where something that does not yet exist is supposed to live.
So… shhh.
∀LCHƎMY | Costa Rica is officially in development.
This is the beginning.
