After a long day of work, I pulled up to my house and found this package waiting for me.
Inside was something much bigger than a degree.
It was proof that I didn’t quit.
The journey to earning this degree was anything but easy. There were long days working, running a full-service catering company, and remaining committed to my assignment and service at church. After all of that, I still had papers to write, assignments to complete, and quizzes to take. There were nights when sleep became optional because the work had to get done.
But no matter how tired I was, I stayed committed. I stayed determined. I kept going.
What makes this moment even more special is that I’ve started and stopped school more times than I can count. For years, earning a degree was something I wanted, but I had to find the thing that truly ignited my passion.
Food did that for me.
Food didn’t just become my career, it saved my life. It gave me purpose, direction, creativity, and confidence. It reminded me that it’s never too late to pursue what you love.
Today, I am incredibly proud of myself. Proud of the sacrifices. Proud of the perseverance. Proud of the woman who refused to give up on her dream.
And the best part?
This is only the beginning.
Chapter 44: Degreed & Promoted. 🎓✨
To God be all the glory.
I’ll be attending my actual graduation ceremony in Boulder CO later this year. 🥳
