Trying to catch up on the last few weeks out of the shop...

In 1977, I was an 11yr old boy living in rural Minnesota... The two baddest rides in the Universe were The Millennium Falcon, and the Bandit Trans Am... In honor of the upcoming 50th anniversary, I made a Bandit Box. Who knew I would be driving the same roads as The Bandit for over 40 years now?!?!

I think I had one on my Mom's Volvo Station Wagon (it wasn't as cool on a cream colored Swedish Station Wagon...)

Maybe I say it too much... But this is truly... "Now for something completely, COMPLETELY different!"

According to Trinity with Dancing Sourdough , Gilmore Girls is a thing... And Sandy came home from the grocery store and showed me a magazine cover saying the Gilmore girls are back!

Until about a week ago, I had never heard of 'em... Now I have three carvings.

I'm kinda out of my depth here.

And now for something completely different...

One of the kids where I get my pallets said he wasn't into sports (do what now?!?!). He is a DC Comic guy, so we did a Justice League collage.

Not my usual motif, but an interesting gig.

More shots as The Market Box came together.
I am really happy with how this turned out.

Interesting side note. The floor of the box is triple recycled! It started life as an overheated CNC Arrowhead Stadium screw up.
Much like Leonardo in the 1500's and the Dutch Masters of the 1600's, I reuse my 'canvases'.
I flipped this over and it became a Sanford Stadium CNC screw up!

It finally found a home as a market box floor! I guess that is more of a floor note, not a side note.

Also, Kat is a great 'Merican! The exterior is stained Red Chestnut 🌰, the interior is white washed, so I made the floor blue🤯! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

I always thought the [front] pin-up biker chick would be cool... I figured the 72 Super Beetle and the Georgia G would work, but the puppy dog 🐶 turned out MUCH better than expected. It went from my least favorite to right up there with the rest!

Very happy with this one. If it doesn't wear out from Market abuse, it should be around for years to come!

Fun project for a wonderful repeat client out of The People's Republic of California! I call her Cali Dawn.
Cool Tools and much cleaner than my pegboard!

She sent the basic idea and an Etsy post and this will be headed to Papa J on Tuesday.
