Some photographs speak to you the moment you see them. This 1938 image of the Schomburg Reading Room at the 135th Street Library was one of those images for me.
The original photograph was dark, blurry in places, and showed decades of wear. I spent hours carefully restoring it to reveal its beauty while honoring its history. Every detail reminded me of the power of books, learning, and the stories that connect us across generations.
Today, it's one of my favorite pieces in the LMC Vintage Goods collection. See it in person this Saturday at the Black Girl Book Fair.
