Turns out your candle choice might say more about you than I originally intended.

Personally, I’m Golden Hour with occasional Midnight tendencies.
Which one are you?

e small business to accidental parasocial relationship pipeline is very real 😂

You came here for candles and somehow ended up knowing my dogs, my home projects, my questionable work-life balance, and what I’m doing on a random Tuesday night.

Anyway, thanks for sticking around. And buying the candles. Especially that part. 🫶

Consider this your official permission slip to cancel the elaborate plans and just hang out.

Light a candle. Order something good. Pour a glass of w**e. Catch up on the 47 things you somehow haven’t told each other yet.

Send this to your person and make the plans 🤍

I would NEVER miss a deadline for someone else.
But a deadline I gave myself? Apparently very negotiable.
For years, I gave the best of myself to my career, freelance clients, and pretty much anyone else who was counting on me. Then I expected my own business to grow with whatever time and energy I had left.
And I think a lot of us are really good at this, especially women.
We show up for everyone else because the thought of letting someone down feels awful. But when it comes to the things we want? We can push those to tomorrow. Or next week. Or when things “slow down.”
This isn’t your sign to work every night. I literally made Episode 1 about why I DON’T think you should do that.
It’s just your reminder that choosing to rest is very different from making yourself the easiest person to cancel on.
You don’t always have to come first.
But you can’t always come last either.
Follow along for more lessons I’ve learned building a small business while working a full-time career. 🤍

I started making candles because I liked making candles.
Very simple. Very innocent.
And then, as I tend to do with hobbies, I accidentally turned it into a whole business.
But that’s still one of my favorite things about shopping small. So many of the things you find exist because one person had an idea, got a little too obsessed with it, and decided other people might like it too.
Every order lets me keep doing exactly that. Making things I think are cool, sending them out into the world, and seeing if you think they’re cool too.
So thank you for continuing to enable this hobby 🤝

Turns out my version of chic is working with my dog, turning every hobby into a business, and making my house so cozy I never want to leave.

Very glamorous over here. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Life’s expensive.

But I’ve realized there are a few things I’ll happily spend money on every single time because they make ordinary days feel a little better.

🕯️ A candle I’ll actually burn (life’s too short to save the “good one.”)
☕ Good coffee.
🌷 Grocery store flowers.
🍷 The bottle of w**e I’ve been waiting for the “right occasion” to open.
🥖 Fresh bread that somehow disappears in 24 hours.

None of these are necessities.

But they remind me that cozy isn’t something you earn after a productive week. Sometimes it’s just lighting a candle on a random Tuesday and deciding that’s reason enough.

What’s something you’ll always say is worth the money?
