Had a fun filled weekend spent with the Hill’s at the Mimms Technology Museum Fri Eve. Sat was filled with errands and then out to dinner with the Reed’s at Stones in Johns Creek to celebrate our 11 yr anniversary. ♥️ And the Reeds anniversary coming up. Sunday filled with bringing food and supplies to Bridge to Grace for WV flood relief, Westside Market meeting and bringing in some new art for booth 903. Can I have another couple days off to do nothing?? 😂

What a beautiful afternoon in the studio! 🎨🐦

Saturday's "Hovering in Bloom" painting class with Color Your World by Madara was full of concentration, laughter, and gorgeous hummingbirds taking shape one brushstroke at a time. From first sketch to final feathers, this group brought so much heart to their canvases — and the results speak for themselves!

There's something so special about a room full of people trying something new together, helping each other mix the perfect shade of green, and cheering each other on as their birds "hovered" into bloom. Every canvas turned out uniquely beautiful, just like the artists who painted them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Westside Market Roswell for this one — your creativity made the afternoon! Keep an eye out for the next class in Madara's monthly series. We'd love to have you at an easel next time. 🌸

Six layers deep, and every one of them still catching light. ✨

Madara Douglas built this 36" × 36" canvas the slow way — gold metallic paint, then tissue paper for texture, then Luster Stone for shimmer, then glass reflective beads, then penny tiles set one at a time. Epoxy glaze over all of it, sealing the whole history under glass.

Photographs don't do credit to the motion in this piece. In person, it moves — the beads flicker as you walk past, the gold rims flash, the glaze pulls light across the surface like water. 🌿
