Modern Luxury featured this Sea Island home back in the spring, and it's still one of our favorite projects to point to when people ask who we work with.

Sarah Storms of Styled by Storms led the design, and the resource list for the finished home included the best in the business. Names like SHM Architects, Currey & Company, Visual Comfort , and more. Our part was the Roman shades in Fabricut's Iris Apfel Spotted Ikat fabric and the drapery fabrication in the sunroom, seen here. Getting credited among this list is exactly the company we set out to keep.

If you're a designer putting together a project at this level, we'd love to be part of your resource list too.

A bucket-list weekend that absolutely lived up to the expectation. 💚

Dorothy Draper Decorating Weekend at The Greenbrier was so much more than touring a beautiful, historic hotel.

Over three days, we toured incredible spaces and suites, went behind the scenes in the upholstery workroom, attended presentations about Dorothy Draper and the history behind her unmistakable designs, enjoyed afternoon tea, receptions, a picnic, fabulous food and drinks—and met so many people who share a genuine love for great design and craftsmanship.

And, of course, I studied a LOT of window treatments. 😂

The scale. The color. The trims. The swags, valances, draperies and layers upon layers of detail. Glamorous really is the word for them. There is nothing timid about The Greenbrier, and that’s exactly what makes it so much fun.

But I think what I enjoyed most was learning the history behind what we were seeing—the people, the craftsmanship and the stories that have kept Dorothy Draper’s vision alive for generations.

I came home inspired, full of ideas, and with an even greater appreciation for places that aren’t afraid to be extraordinary.

The Greenbrier did not disappoint. 💚✨ The Greenbrier Dorothy Draper & Company, Inc. Elizabeth Gerdes

This commercial foyer came with a problem most workrooms would pass on.

Two stories of exposed concrete and a straight line of sight into the public hallway next door left the space feeling cold and unfinished. We engineered towering, two-story ripplefold draperies, precision-installed between the massive ductwork and the wall (no easy feat in such a tight space!). Scaled to the room, they are soft enough to warm the space and durable enough to withstand daily commercial traffic.

Projects like this are exactly why businesses call us instead of a standard workroom. We handle commercial jobs from concept to completion, from the first site walk to the final install, and we build for the traffic and scale that come with a real business space.

If you manage a space that needs the same kind of solution, send us a message.

Here's a first look inside some of the gathering spaces from a recent project on Lake Lanier. We were brought into the collaboration when the home was just studs, working with the talented Brian Cash Works, a New York design firm that trusted us to be their boots on the ground here in Georgia.

We handled the fabrication and fittings in person, catching the small problems before they turned into his problems, keeping his design intact from the first spec to the final install. That's the difference between being a vendor and being a trusted partner.

More rooms from this house are coming soon, it has some good stories to tell.

This may have been my favorite part of the entire weekend so far. Worth the price of admission for me. 🤩

Behind the incredible interiors of The Greenbrier is something I couldn’t wait to see—their in-house Upholstery Shop, which, in our world, is really their workroom.

And I was in absolute awe.

Roughly 10 craftspeople work here, creating and maintaining the drapery and upholstery exclusively for The Greenbrier. Some have been doing this work here for more than 40 years. Think about that. Four decades of knowledge, craftsmanship and hands-on skill under one roof.

Getting to walk through the workroom, see their equipment, study how they fabricate, and watch how they approach the work was fascinating to me. There’s something pretty special about seeing a place where things are still made by hand, by people who truly know their craft.

And to make the visit even better, I had the opportunity to meet Sebastian Varney, son of the legendary Carleton Varney, and Rudy Saunders, Design Director at Dorothy Draper & Co.

I could have stayed in this room for HOURS. ❤️

If you love seeing what happens behind the beautiful finished rooms, watch this one closely. There are a lot of details tucked into this reel.

The craftsmanship behind The Greenbrier is every bit as fascinating as The Greenbrier itself.

When the fabric is this good, the rest follows. This Serena & Lily stripe brought exactly the right softness and classic feel to these Atlanta bedroom windows, and the finished Roman shades let every bit of that treetop view in while giving the room the calm, pulled-together finish it needed.

Monday looks a little better from here. ✨

Waking up to natural light isn't just beautiful, it's one of the best things you can do for your energy and your mood. These motorized blackout draperies in Big Canoe, Georgia open on a schedule, so you wake up to this every single day without lifting a finger. Now, the hardest part of your morning is deciding how long to stand there and take it all in.

Window treatments aren't just about light and privacy. They are about you. Let's design something that makes every morning feel like this. Tap the link to get started 👉 stitchabovetherest.com/discovery/

31 years married. Still the best adventure. 🌸🥂 Last year we celebrated 30 with a proper photo shoot at the Tate House. I wore my wedding dress, Rose was there, and it was a stunning start to another decade together. This year we're taking it a little more casual. Same love, different scenery. 💗 Adrienne Louise Photo + Films
