Today is Johnny Appleseed Day, celebrating the pioneer nurseryman and conservationist who spent his life planting apple trees and helping them take root across the country.

So, in the spirit of crisp fall days, apple picking, and all things cozy, we have to ask:

For the sisters behind Shop Freshwater, design is often connected to a place you remember and the feeling you want to take home with you.

Their women-owned downtown Augusta studio and shop grew from that idea, with handcrafted accessories inspired by time near the water, annual traditions, and the destinations people return to again and again. Many pieces are designed and produced in-house, giving the collection a distinctly personal point of view.

Inside, the signature bag charm bar invites customers to create something of their own, while themed collections capture everything from Augusta's springtime traditions to lake weekends and coastal travel.
