Willie Nelson's Heartbreaker Banquet was the best SXSW event I've ever seen so far. But I've only been going to, shooting or working with SXSW for 8 years in a row now. Seeing Metallica playing at Stubb's BBQ now gets bumped to 2nd place followed by (in no particular order) having Snoop Dogg, Soundgarden & Damon Alborn as guests in Austin Base Camp, then there was hanging with Macklemore & Lewis, Paramore and the Flaming Lips (while Wayne was tripping) etc. Anyways, everything at Heartbreaker was fantastic...the Artists, Production, Sound, Stages, Lighting, Staff, Food, Free Drinks, Weather and even the Sunset were flat out EPIC! I got there late and only saw Heartless Bastards, Leon Bridges , Nikki Lane, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real, Insects vs. Robots & Willie Nelson & Friend, but they all killed it. Do yourself a favor and see any of these acts if you have the chance.
