My first larger-scale project!

I’ve been pushing myself to become more self-sufficient, creating spaces and opportunities money can’t always buy. Times are tough, but steady growth keeps you moving forward.

It became a great learning experience with my kids as we designed, built, marketed, and rehomed the piece for a small profit. Now, it’s serving a family with a Husky and a Husky/GSD mix, adding comfort for their pets and character to their home.
To me this was a true win-win for the pups and their home, and a reflection of the power of continuous improvement, all while my children are excited about the next project we are planning.

You’ll Need:

1x 24" Drawer Slide Mount Set
2x 3x2 slabs
2x 2x2 slabs

Steps:

Cut & Build the L-Shapes:
Cut your 3x2s to size.
Make two sturdy L-shapes. These will hold your router in place. Just put together with some wood glue, no more, no less.

Add a Bottom Block:
Flip the L-shapes over.
Add a block underneath to:
Keep the L-shapes the correct width for your router.
Provide a mounting point for the drawer slides.

Attach the Drawer Slides:
Mount the counter side of each drawer slide to the 2x2 slabs.
Secure the L-shapes (with your bottom block) to the sliding part of the drawer slides.

Mount or Go Free-Standing:
For a sturdy base, attach the setup to a piece of plywood with scrap board supports.
Or, keep it free-standing for quick mobility.

✅ And that’s it! Smooth, accurate passes without breaking the bank!
