Official Shop Update

From Luci, Chief Quality Control Officer
After a thorough inspection of the shop (and several mandatory treat breaks), I've had to make a difficult decision.

For some personal reasons, the humans will be stepping away from the workshop for a little while. That means there won't be much sawdust flying around here for the time being.

I've already checked the inventory, sniffed every corner of the shop, and made sure everything is secure. My clipboard says we're in good shape—we just need a little time.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Steiner Ranch Sawdust, shared our work, placed orders, and cheered us on. We appreciate every one of you more than you know.

Don't worry... I'll keep an eye on things until everyone is back.

Hopefully, it won't be long before I can report that the saws are humming again, the wood shavings are piling up, and the humans are back to making things.

Ever since hitting 100 followers, Luci has started acting like a celebrity.

No more simply riding along. Now she insists on personally overseeing supply runs.

Treat aisle? Mandatory.

Toy inspection? Mandatory.

Hardware department? Surprisingly thorough.

We're beginning to suspect we work for her.

To be fair...that's probably been true for a while.

Most non-woodworkers will either find this funny...or wonder what the big deal is.

Every woodworker, on the other paw, just looked at the photo, sighed, and quietly muttered, "Yeah."

Just because the idea is old, it doesn't mean it is not useful.

Old-fashioned doesn't always mean outdated.

Sometimes it just means someone solved the problem well enough the first time that it never really needed improving.

There was a time when everyday items had a place. Bread wasn't left balancing on top of the refrigerator or tucked behind the coffee maker. It had a home of its own, and the kitchen felt just a little more organized because of it.

This primitive-style bread box is our small nod to that idea.

Finished with a distressed, time-worn look, it's meant to feel like it's been sitting on the counter for years—keeping a few loaves together, cutting down on clutter, and quietly doing the job it was built to do.

Sure, not every old-fashioned idea is worth bringing back. But every now and then, you stumble across one that makes you wonder why we stopped doing it in the first place.

As long as we're being a little nostalgic, what was something that always seemed to be in your parents' or grandparents' kitchen that you rarely see anymore?
