Our shop has been created with encouragement and joy from this community, and we truly can’t wait to welcome you in!💗

This Saturday will be our First Look at the shop. We will be open and ready to welcome guests as a stop on downtown Batavia's Step Into Spring: Wine Walk. 🍷👟 (Note, you will need a 🎟 to participate in the wine portion and you can purchase those at downtownbatavia.com).

Next Saturday we'll continue the celebration! We're busy filling the shop with cute items to tuck in Easter baskets, lovely gifts, and a broader selection of the charming pieces you loved at our Boardwalk Shop.

🎀A Little Holiday House Tour🎀

I have been meaning to share a little walk through our home all decorated (and clean) for the holidays. Our home itself isn’t spectacular in terms of size or stature, it’s a builder grade home we’ve built up in character, most of the decorations have been collected over time or made, but it feels like us—warm, layered and lived-in.

I love when a cozy home (and a family + 🐶) welcomes our oldest son home from college🌴☀️ (my main reason for decorating early). It what he looks forward to most. And the boys get involved and take care of our basement tree with ornaments we bring home from trips we’ve taken near and far…It’s so fun to pull them out and talk about a special or oftentimes sometimes silly/crazy memory we have. Someone always reminds us to find a shop with ornaments in the middle of summer.

But I really do love when our house is all dressed up with little details and delights. I hope it brings you a bit of joy.✨

You won't want to miss Downtown Batavia's Holiday 🎄Sneak Peek✨ this Thursday, November 6th from 5-8pm! 👩🏻‍🎨Local artist, Marla Shega will be joining us () with her paintings full of wonder-filled nostalgia.✨

The dearest family friends introduced us to Marla years ago and our boys would be in awe watching her paint in the shop windows (as they asked her one million questions she patiently answered). We are so lucky to have her with us for the evening! She will have paintings on hand as well as her portfolio for ordering, timeless and treasured gifts.🎁

The shop has been all cozied up with the sweetest touches🎀 and filled with holiday goodness. 🔔 We can't wait to welcome you in! Enjoy free trolley 🚎 rides to all the stops in downtown Batavia, soak in the holiday spirit and start your season off shopping small, local and rooted in tradition and community. 📣✨ Exciting News, Friends!
Our little shop on the corner is growing! 🌿 A Rooted Home is expanding into a new space at 237 W. Wilson in Batavia! We'll be a new shop around another corner (yes, that's a You've Got Mail reference, I can't help it, it's finally fall!).🍂

What started as a cozy first step on the Batavia Boardwalk has grown into something more! This new space will give us the room to expand our curated collections, host gatherings and create another peace-filled shopping experience for you!

For nearly ten years, I have nurtured A Rooted Home in one form or another, some seasons more quietly and some, like this one, more visibly. We've had a lovely season bringing this physical space to life and want to keep the joyful momentum going!

This next step is one we've hoped for and carefully considered. We know in life there are always unknowns and surprises (hello quadruplets!😉). Still for anything worth doing there is always an element that requires a leap of faith and we will continue to do what we've always done, trust in God and in ourselves.

Our family has called the Fox Valley area home for over twenty-five years. It is personal to deepen our roots and continue to invest in this beautiful community and we are immensely and deeply grateful for the ways you have invested in and embraced us. Keep chasing joy with us into this next chapter, we're so grateful for you.💗

In the meantime, come visit us at our Boardwalk shop. The holiday season is quickly approaching and we have some exciting things planned and so much goodness for gifting! 🎁
