Finally finished with this painting restoration for Matagorda Museum, Texas

I’ve been restoring paintings a looong time. Once in awhile i come across a ni****ne smoke covered.
It cleaned different than a varnish removal that yellowed. Ni****ne hangs on tighter…
And today I am cleaning this painting for the Matagorda Museum. IT IS NOT DONE, but you can see the black line across the sky i have finished yet…. This is just a magnificent painting. The restore really begins after i get It completely cleaned of ni****nee and old varnish.
This will be on display at the Matagorda Museum in the near future when finished. What a museum treasure!!

Painting I’m restoring for the Museum is drying. If I’m happy when it’s dry it’ll go back in frame I also restored and be returned for Bay City to enjoy for generations to come.
Remember, oil paintings are like skin especially if exposed to extreme temperature changes, they become dry and cracked. It’s important to have your works of art cleaned and varnished w a UV filtering varnish to preserve them from fading, cracking ect.
