Bonnie let me use her as a clothes tree to show my latest thrifted finds. It’s hard to think of this being heavy sweater season already but since I’m always cold anyway, it all works out! I carry extra sweaters even in the car because sometimes even air conditioning is just too much. I like nature’s cooling better—but with me tucked into “warm.” Bonnie & I are so opposite in so many ways—she’s always hot, loves her A/C, & she’s retired (although she sure does do a lot of work for me! 😎❤️) But we can co-exist in a happy flow & find so much in common in our own ways. I met her in 2002 & here we are all these years later with Bonnie letting me use her as a photo prop! ❤️

This day is about to get busy to the point of needing a schedule conductor so I figure I best share some of yesterday’s thrift stuff with you now. When I get “new” stuff, I just can’t wait to show you & today I have to focus. I’m writing in the office today, have company at home, work to do at my shop tonight, & all the things in between. It’s happy work, soul-nourishing—-& the weather is the sunny, cool perfect October days I love here in the colorful mountains—so no complaints. Have a day that’s perfect for you, sisters, above all with peace in your heart & purpose in your steps. (Bonnie modeled the clothes I got last night—kinda modeled—we draped them over her—but I don’t have those photos ready yet. Those can be for tonight.) Toodles! Let’s get this day on track! Bonbon & I hit the thrift tonight after dropping off lots of stuff back into the river of things. If these furry pants had been my size, I’d have brought out my inner cowgirl (if I had one) but they were XXS. Pass. I’d have bought these charming little vintage cups except one was broken. Sigh. And the lunch box message made me laugh but I left it there. I already know old age’s not gonna hold me back! Places to go, people to see, stuff to thrift! I’ll show you what I did get today when I get home from my trip out with family & friends. (I picked out a sweater I thought Bonnie would like & she didn’t—so I got it for myself! 🤣 You may feel the same way she did when you see it.)

Not a big haul but a perfect cup for all my mismatched mugs. I love choosing the one that fits my mood at the moment. What a huge week of activity & what a huge weekend ahead…I’m trying to focus & I know it’ll involve going with the flow, keeping my eye on the goal, drinking a lot of tea, & counting on my friends to push over the winning threshold. Not raindrops today—rain buckets—kept falling on our heads. I loved it—cool breezes, lights glowing in the reflections of the pooled puddles, hot food in cold weather. I did some shopping today & talked to some people about Elsbeth. We met up with a new friend that I made in PA who lives in the city & I wanted my girls to meet him. We got my thrifted stuff & new stuff loaded up in my car since the stuff was starting to build up. My girls, in turn, put even more stuff in there for me to donate at home. By the way, I had habanero peanut brittle, & a dark chocolate candy with pistachios & jalapeños. Incredible. ❤️ So many happy quotes, compliments, & food for thought this trip. I’ll have a lot to feast on. ❤️🙋‍♀️🦩

Today in NYC, we passed posted signs that Elsbeth will be filming right there next week. Now, wait…I am Elsbeth but they just don’t know it yet. 😎 I need a cameo appearance on that show, seriously. I was out & about in my thrifted orange checkered coat & orange scarf 🧣 & with “that” umbrella & several bags—one of my lunch leftovers & one of my thrift store finds. We were headed to a poshy party so I hung all my stuff on coat hangers at the venue & proceeded to eat my weight in macarons & shrimp on a stick! 🤣 My take-out container just hung there on the rack like a ham in a meat shop window! 🤣 The cocktails & w**e flowed but I had my tea. I never leave home without it. Interestingly enough, the thrift store today was half off of everything for their once a month sale. I already have the other stuff packed away but I’ll show you another time. Right now, I’m about to play cards with my girls & wipe out a green curry dish—while the rain falls & I’m wrapped up in a thrifted blanket. I hope this weekend is exactly what you were hoping for. If you happen to know how to reach the cast of “Elsbeth” put in a good word for me, will ya? 😎

I earned this nickname of “Elsbeth” because she may be a character on TV but I am truly a knick-knack bag lady. I strolled the Big Apple last night fit for the role—including toting my pink flamingo umbrella—& wearing my thrifted outfit—-even the purse & tea jug holder. 😎 We can’t call it “style” but we can say…”colorful.” 🤣🦩
Here’s a funny story: when I arrived in the city, Girly & Girlsy, my twin daughters, said, “Mom! Our bowling league is tonight & it starts at 11 p.m. We’re short a bowler. You’re bowling on our team tonight.” 😳😳
At the lanes, there were girls in Spandex, tight jeans, & athletic pants. And then there was me—the Knick-Knack—bowling in this outfit with my sequined pink cat necklace & my flowy garden pants! 🤣🤣 I got a strike in the first game & two back to back in the 10th frame of the 2nd game. I took all the applause I could get & took a bow in my thrifted threads. ❤️🙋‍♀️🎳
