"Hot Coffee and Winter Weather" measures 18 by 24 inches and is presented in a custom 2-inch frame that enhances its intimate scale. Executed in acrylic, the piece captures a quiet moment of warmth within a cold winter day. At the center, a white cup adorned with a delicate brown branch pattern sits on a pale blue surface, steam rising softly from the hot beverage it holds. Nearby, a small grouping of round chocolate chip cookies with cream accents rests beside a dark brown basket filled with rolled wafer cookies, adding texture and inviting detail to the composition.

Beyond this cozy arrangement, a frosted window with subtle texture conveys the chill of the season, its glass marked by frost and icicles that suggest biting cold outside. The cool color palette—dominated by soft blues and crisp whites—is balanced by warm browns throughout the foreground, emphasizing the contrast between the exterior’s wintry stillness and the interior’s comforting warmth. The carefully applied texture on the window surface heightens the tactile quality of the cold, making the scene feel both tangible and inviting. This thoughtful interplay of light, color, and texture invites the viewer to pause and appreciate a quiet moment of welcome reprieve amid winter’s grip.

This charming 18-by-24-inch original acrylic painting captures a curious chickadee peeking from its cozy home inside a birch tree. The bright green woodland and slender background trees create a peaceful natural setting, while the close-up composition gives the little bird plenty of personality.

Mastic was applied with a palette knife to create the birch tree’s richly textured bark, adding noticeable depth and dimension that photographs cannot fully capture. A cheerful piece for bird lovers and anyone who enjoys bringing the beauty of nature indoors.

I recently had the pleasure of painting this commissioned piece for a friend, featuring her husband enjoying one of his favorite pastimes—golf. It is a very big painting measuring three feet by five feet. A commission like this is more than simply capturing a person’s likeness; it is about preserving a special memory and the joy found in doing something he loves. I hope this painting will bring them both many years of happy memories.

Measuring 20 by 26 inches and presented within a custom wood frame, "Self Portrait, ELBE" captures a relaxed, sunlit moment with clarity and warmth. The subject is a man wearing a white cap, sunglasses perched casually on top, and a light blue shirt left open at the collar. His expression is approachable and genuine, enhanced by a sun-kissed complexion that suggests a bright, outdoor setting. Around his neck hangs a simple black beaded necklace, adding subtle personal detail.

In his right hand, he holds a bottle of Belikin b**r, its label featuring a distinctive arrangement of green and red elements, which introduces a splash of color and texture. The background offers a natural contrast through vertical wooden planks rendered in warm, earthy tones. The overall style remains firmly grounded in realism, with attention to nuanced light and shadow that imbues the scene with a welcoming atmosphere. This self-portrait, rooted in a photograph taken in Belize in 2013, conveys a moment of quiet confidence and ease, inviting viewers into an intimate and honest portrayal.

Memories In A Mason Jar measures 20 by 26 inches, including a custom wood frame that complements the vibrant scene within. Executed in acrylic, the piece presents a glass jar that encloses a quiet moment of childhood suspended in time. Inside the jar, a silhouette of a child swings gently against a backdrop transitioning from warm orange to soft blue, capturing the fleeting light of sunset. The solid black figure stands out sharply amidst the glowing colors, emphasizing a sense of innocence and joy.

Subtle details enhance the composition: delicate branches at the base of the jar introduce an element of nature, while carefully rendered reflections and shadows give the glass a tangible, three-dimensional quality. The scene balances whimsy with realism, inviting reflection on the way memories can be both vivid and contained. The artwork’s theme of nostalgia resonates through its thoughtful use of color and form, offering a contemplative space where moments of youth are preserved with quiet affection.

Soft Threads in a Purple Sky consists of two rectangular panels, each measuring 22 by 26 inches and set within custom purple floating frames. Crafted in acrylic, the work presents a minimalist, monochromatic design focused on texture and form. Raised, flowing lines curve gently across each purple surface, their varying thicknesses creating a rhythmic, organic pattern that suggests movement and subtle depth. These sculpted contours fold and flow around a central angular shape on each panel, establishing a quiet dialogue between geometry and natural form.

The two panels function together as a cohesive composition, their shared visual language inviting a contemplative experience that rests on balance and restraint. The absence of color directs attention to the tactile qualities of the surface and the interplay of light and shadow across the raised lines. This pairing creates a measured yet dynamic environment that encourages viewers to explore the nuances of shape, texture, and the space between elements.

Inspired by a desire to connect with a younger audience, the piece embraces simplicity without sacrificing complexity beneath its surface. The work’s quiet confidence draws on abstraction to foster an intimate interaction, offering room for personal interpretation within a unified and deliberate structure.
