We can not always keep things exactly the way they were when you bring them in. This client knew I couldn't keep the duct tape. It wo t stay on forever or wash well and it could damage the machine. I offered a fun solution. Using one of the other shirts. While I may not be able to keep things exactly the same we were able to come up with a fun way to preserve the memory.

It is always a scary privilege to start the cutting portion of a shirt quilt. Thanks for seeing the vision and trusting me with your memories. I am excited to show you all in real time the progress on this new quilt. I will be showing updates on this one as I go along. We had our initial meeting Friday afternoon. This morning starts first cuts.
First cuts are when I make the original cuts to start separating potions of the shirt into design elements. Nothing is to size yet. This just let's me break down the shirt. On one jersey we will be using the front, sleeves, name on back, and numbers on back and maybe even shoulder numbers. 5 separate block portions from one shirt.

She is almost done! Just need to get her ironed for her photo tomorrow then quilted.
