A few years ago I heard a whisper in my heart that told me “go all in on your big paintings, just do what lights you up”. And I ignored it, or maybe in a kinder way of thinking about it I just wasn’t ready to listen to it yet.
I was raised as an eldest daughter, often slipping into the role of making everyone happy. Which led me to make a lot of decisions in my business and lifestyle that weren’t in total alignment. I carried a lot of different products with my art, and it was draining me at the end of the day, because every item I managed would be more energy that I didn’t have for painting.
This year had me embrace change on a new level. I’m stepping into the shoes I always knew intuitively I could, and I’m seeing the world in a new light. My big works are finding homes faster than I dreamed of and people are thrilled to own their first work after following me for years. I feel like everyday this month I’ve just had goosebump moments where I want to just cry out of complete and utter joy that I’m right where I need to be.
I also want to say if you’re a female business owner and you’ve been considering stepping into a new world, I encourage you to find people to support you. This journey of entrepreneurship is wild, hard and often lonely. 2 big people that are helping in me in my current walk are 1. Brianne Grogan | Medicine Meets Majick ✨ — the way she held me, carved divine feminine space and loved me for an entire weekend while I rested just literally transformed me. 2. Stephanie Swail | High Level Sales & Leadership Mentor • Speaker a complete legend in understanding alignment and chasing your dreams wholeheartedly. I couldn’t make the big leaps I am without the support of strong women in my corner.
I think this new season (year 6 of my business) is the most exciting one yet! I’m beaming with joy to head to the studio this week, and cannot wait to see what I’ll make next!
