A quaint story from Jean Paul, the founder of Sunshine Window Cleaning.
“I started washing windows in 1977 when I got out of high school. I took a job at the local Dairy Queen cleaning up in the mornings for an hour or two, then the boss decided he wanted to me to wash the windows instead of paying a professional. So, I got the squeegee out and started washing windows and quickly discovered that I was horrible at it. Every week a professional window cleaner would come to wash the windows at the Kentucky Fried Chicken across the street, so I watched him and saw how he did it and tried to copy that to figure out how to do it myself. I asked my boss if I could use his equipment to do a few jobs on my own. He agreed, so off I went with a squeegee, a brush and a bucket down the street. I knocked on the door to Zeke’s Carpet Store and got the job. I did it in 45 minutes and made $15. I thought I was a millionaire.”
