These sweet floral plates, turned 2 tiered stand, are part of the Hazel pattern, produced by Scio Pottery in Scio, Ohio beginning around 1935. Featuring a lovely pink rose surrounded by blue and yellow flowers, scalloped edges, and delicate 22K gold trim, it’s a beautiful example of American pottery from the Depression-era and post-war years.
One of the most charming stories about the Hazel pattern is that many pieces were reportedly given away as movie theater promotions and local business giveaways in the 1930s and 1940s. Imagine taking home a piece of china after a night at the movies!
Today, Hazel remains a favorite among collectors for its cottage-style charm, cheerful florals, and nostalgic connection to everyday American life nearly 90 years ago. 🌸✨
