Good afternoon everyone!!

Today we’re celebrating NATIONAL FUDGE DAY, and apparently Maximus Prime decided waiting for dessert was NOT part of the plan! 🍫🐾😂
Nothing says a relaxing Southern porch day quite like a cup of coffee, a little sunshine, and a platter full of delicious fudge. Max has already given his official taste-test approval, so I guess that settles it!

Around here, we’re keeping things simple today… coffee for me and tacos for Max! 😆

I’m not sure who was more excited when the tacos showed up, but judging by that face, I’d say Max was ready to skip straight to supper. Meanwhile, I’ll be over here on the porch enjoying my coffee and soaking up a little sunshine.

🥒🌞 Happy National Cucumber Day! 🌞🥒

Nothing says summertime in the South quite like a big bowl of cucumber salad! Add in some tomatoes, onions, crunchy croutons, a little ranch dressing, and a stack of buttery crackers, and I’m one happy girl.

Of course, Maximus Prime wasn’t about to let me celebrate alone. The moment he spotted the salad bowl, he appointed himself Chief Taste Tester and dug right in! 🐾😂

Now I have to ask…

Now y’all know this is one holiday Maximus Prime can get behind! 😂🐾

A big bowl of strawberry shortcake piled high with sweet strawberries, fluffy whipped cream, and all the goodness that makes summer taste like summer. If Max had his way, he’d probably skip the dog food and go straight to dessert every day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful, relaxing Sunday morning!

Today also happens to be National Pop Goes the Weasel Day, so Max and I decided to join in on the fun. 🐾😂 I think Max was mostly interested in whatever “popped” might turn into a snack!

Whether you’re headed to church, spending time with family, working in the garden, crafting, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee on the porch, I hope your day is filled with smiles, laughter, and a few happy surprises along the way.

🇺🇸 Happy National Flag Day! 🇺🇸

Today I’m celebrating the red, white, and blue and all the things that make home feel special. From front porch gatherings to handmade Americana designs, there’s just something about our flag that brings back memories and reminds us of the people we love.

This day is also a little extra meaningful to me because it was my mother-in-law’s birthday. So today, I’m celebrating our flag, sweet memories, and the people who leave lasting footprints on our hearts.

Max was more than happy to join in the celebration, especially if it meant spending time on the porch with me! 🐾❤️

⚠️ Tick Season Reminder ⚠️

Just a heads-up for my family and friends…

I found a tick crawling on my leg today after working in the yard. Thankfully, it had NOT attached yet, but it was a good reminder that ticks are definitely active right now!

We’ve hardly seen ticks around our property in years, but lately we’ve been finding them on the dogs again, and several people I know have recently had tick bites.

Please be extra careful when:
✔️ Working in the yard
✔️ Walking through tall grass
✔️ Hiking or spending time in wooded areas
✔️ Checking pets after they’ve been outside

Some tick bites can lead to serious illnesses, including Alpha-gal Syndrome, which has been linked to the Lone Star tick and can cause an allergy to red meat and other mammal products.

After spending time outdoors:
🐾 Check yourself and your pets carefully
👖 Wear long pants when possible
🧦 Tuck pant legs into socks in high grass areas
🦟 Use insect repellent
🚿 Shower and do a tick check when you come inside

Stay safe out there, y’all! These little critters may be tiny, but they can cause some big problems.

Just while I was
Well.. Houdini ~ aka. Max has escaped again!! From underneath my fence!!

While I was outside locating his ESCAPE HATCH and picking up random branches.. I sit down trying to COOL OFF.. {which is A WHOLE NOTHER SUBJECT!!}
I found a tick crawling on my leg!!
And yes!! It's HOT AS HELL here in Central Alabama!! 90° blazing hot!🔥

Another ain't a good picture but he's already been scorched once and then I took a picture so it's kind of shriveled up!! lol 😂

>>IF YOU DO FIND A TICK THAT HAS ATTACHED: if you will take something like a toothpick, use a lighter and make it hot!! Put that hot end around the bottom of the tick and he WILL RELEASE!!! Then burn 🔥 him good!!
