This staircase started as a concept image.

Then shop drawings. Then steel. Now installation.

The oak treads are the last piece. But even unfinished, you can see exactly what it’s going to be. Black steel. Stone. Reclaimed wood framing. A mountain home that means business.

If I can’t have a blue and white coastal sunroom, the next best thing is designing one for my best friend.

The Snug Harbor Captain’s Home is one of my favorite projects. Mostly because she trusted me completely. Partly because I would have made the same choices for myself.

Sunday morning at the Treehouse.

Some are cooking. Some are learning. One is probably just waiting for the pancakes.

This is what it’s for.

Rearranging this for hours was my happy place.

Every shelf has something that means something. Family photos, books we’ve actually read, objects collected from places we’ve been.

A bookcase should tell your story, not look like a catalog.

This is still a work in progress, but aren’t they always?

We moved into the Treehouse last week.

Our neighbor showed up with flowers from the farmers market.

This is what a home is supposed to feel like.

The estimate for this chandelier has been sitting in my inbox since 2023. My husband thought I forgot about it. I did not. Treehouse reveal coming soon!

Most mountain homes are designed to look good for a weekend.

This one is being designed to survive grandchildren, dock traffic, summer storms, and 20 people showing up for dinner.

The kind of existing charm you protect, not erase.

Welcome to Lakeside Summit at Grandfather Golf & Country Club. It’s tucked into the trees with lake views, mountain air, and the kind of history you can feel the second you step onto the porch.

This home has been part of the family for decades, and our goal is simple: make it feel just as beautiful for the next generation without losing the soul that made everyone love it in the first place.

Treehouse cabinet delivery!

After plenty of construction delays and a mid-project builder switch, it’s nice to finally see this house moving into the fun part again.

The white oak + painted cabinetry mix was always the plan here, and getting these pieces on site makes all of those early material decisions feel very worth it.
