First dozen gourdaments done. Will be teaching a class doing one of these ornaments and a Russian doll style Santa ornament. The class at Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association Art Center is TBD, and one at Olive's Porch December 4th. Lots of fun. All are woodburned, painted, and sealed. Will post Santa soon as I get him done.

So this is one of the gourds I grew last year. It's a Peruvian Sugarbowl gourd. I let it dry, cut it in half, cleaned it out, measured and drilled holes in it. Then used a pale green dye on it and a black micron pen to create the patterns. Painted the inside matte black and sealed the whole thing with 2 coats of varnish. Covered the rim with coiled black broom straw and added beads. Pretty happy with it all in all. Lot of work!

Started a new piece today. I will be demonstrating woodburning this Saturday at the Olive's Porch tent downtown Murphy from 4 to 6pm. Reid will be whittling with me too. Come say hi if you are there!
