🛏️✨ Not everything in the Lowcountry has to be jute, driftwood, and fifty shades of blue.

Classic and modern styles deserve a seat at the table too — and in this bedroom, they’re making themselves right at home. We curated pieces from Arhaus, Ethan Allen, and Lexington to create a look that’s layered, textured, and anything but matchy-matchy.

The bed? Rich brown fluting that adds depth and drama.

The mirror? Faux horn with a sculptural edge.

The lamp? Alabaster texture that glows with quiet luxury.

This space is proof that timeless doesn’t mean boring — it means intentional. It’s a room that speaks softly but makes a statement. And yes, it still plays well with your coastal neighbors… just with a little more edge.

Design Fatigue Is Real 😩

One of the most common things I saw back when I worked at Ethan Allen was design fatigue. The same couples would come in multiple times over a few months — shopping, searching, trying to find the perfect table and the perfect chairs.

Furniture is a big investment, so it’s natural to want to get it right. Maybe you love the rustic finish on the Arhaus table with its light-and-dark grain, but their fabric selection feels limited — especially when you want something with a little pattern or color. So, you keep looking... and looking... and suddenly you’re months in and no closer to making a decision.

That’s design fatigue. And it’s completely understandable.

Now that I’m not tied to one furniture line, I can help you navigate all those choices. I know which finishes from which manufacturers pair beautifully together — so you can have the table you love from one store and the chairs that offer the perfect fabric from another.

That’s the beauty of working with a designer: I help you source exactly what you want, from the right places, so you can purchase with confidence.

Hiring a designer doesn’t have to cost thousands — sometimes just a few hours of consulting can help you pull the look together and save money in the long run by avoiding costly mismatched purchases. And, as a designer, I have access to special trade discounts which I can pass on to my clients. Let me help you get over the design fatigue with finding the furniture you truly love. 🤍

Dressing Up a Basic Centerpiece for the Holidays 🍂✨🎄

You don’t need to buy a brand-new arrangement for every holiday — just start with a great base!

I made this arrangement from loose stems and greenery from Branches on Hilton Head, and it’s the perfect year-round foundation. I keep a base of greenery with a few coastal palms — simple, timeless, and beautiful on its own.

Then, I switch it up seasonally:
🍁 Thanksgiving: I add feathers, pine cones, and a few dried flowers. Nothing over the top — no bright pumpkins or heavy orange tones — just natural, understated touches that make it feel warm and festive.
🎄 Christmas: I’ll swap in red accents and twigs with berries for a subtle holiday glow.

You can easily layer in these accents from Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or things found outside. If if you have a realistic base that doesn't scream plastic, then you can cut corners on the add-ins and it will still look high-end.

👉 This is an effortless (and budget-friendly!) way to keep your home feeling fresh and festive all year long.

💡 Design Insight: Same Look, Smarter Spend

Let’s talk about two beautiful options for a coastal-inspired dresser:

🌿 Serena & Lily Driftwood Dresser

Hand-painted and linen-wrapped in 3 colors

$4,998

Stunning look, but the linen-wrapped finish can be more delicate—it’s prone to wear or scuffs over time and requires a bit more care.

🌾 Ethan Allen Continental Dresser

Solid wood construction for strength and longevity

Available in 10 oaks (grainy texture) and 10 maples (smooth, hand stained finish)

Choice of silver, brass, or pewter ring pulls

Typical sale price: $2,756

That’s a $2,242 savings—just on the dresser alone!
If you’re furnishing an entire bedroom suite (bed, dresser, tall chest, and nightstands), the savings can approach $10,000—while investing in furniture that’s built to last for generations.

Now, I’m not here to “dis” Serena & Lily—I own a few of their pieces myself! It’s a beautiful brand and a favorite here in the Lowcountry. But their sales on bedroom furniture are rare, while Ethan Allen offers more frequent promotions and far more custom finishes (many not shown online).

👉 Here’s where a designer adds value:
We know where to find the look you love—often for less—and help you choose materials that not only look good now, but stand the test of time.

✨ Sometimes you don’t immediately see your style when you look at a piece of furniture — and that’s okay! With the right accessories like lamps, rugs, and mirrors, you can take something simple (like a dresser!) and make it completely your own.

That’s where an interior designer can help. 🪞
Jute rug or patterned? Soft neutrals or a pop of red? Whether you’re drawn to soothing tones or bold statements, we’ll help you find the right mix that feels uniquely you.

Not sure what your style is? Let’s get started today — and create a space that truly reflects you! 💫

✨ Bluffton coastal charm starts at the front door! ✨
This Bluffton-inspired entryway combines all the right textures and tones — a rattan-wrapped console, fabric-wrapped mirror, whimsical jute-and-blue runner, and the perfect lamp for balance and scale. 💙🌿

Why work with an interior designer? Because this look didn’t come from one store — it came together from four different sources! Knowing where to find the right pieces (and how to make them work beautifully together) is what turns “nice” into curated coastal perfection.

If you love that relaxed Lowcountry look, I can help you bring it home — effortlessly. 🏡

✨ The Value of Working with an Interior Designer ✨

Here’s a real-world example: with just one purchasing decision, I recently saved a client $1,100 on a single chair.

They loved the look of Serena & Lily’s Beckett Chair — a beautiful bobbin-style piece priced at $2,998. I sourced a nearly identical chair from Ethan Allen — the Brant Chair — for $1,840. Not only did it save money, but it also offered 10+ finish options and over 1,000 fabrics for customization.

When you’re decorating a room (or an entire home), smart sourcing decisions like this add up quickly — and will more than pay for the cost of using an interior designer.

It’s not just about beautiful design — it’s about value, expertise, and knowing where to look. 💡

💭 Pillow Talk: How to Get the Pillow of Your Dreams

Ever wonder why some pillows look sad and flat while others look perfectly plump and inviting? Here’s a little insider secret: it’s all about the insert size.

✨ Always go 2 inches larger with the insert than your pillow cover. That means a 25” Euro cover needs a 27” insert for that full, designer look.

🪶 Feather-down fills are the gold standard — soft, shapeable, and effortlessly luxe.

And for lumbar pillows, you can size down just a bit — if your cover is 11x17, try a 12x18 insert.

Because in design (and in life), it’s what’s inside that counts. 😉
