It is officially the end of an era. 🍂

This Saturday is my VERY LAST Aurora Farmers Market of the season, and I am bringing every last beautiful fall bloom I possibly can!

The market is going all-out for a cozy fall finale. They are encouraging everyone to wear their favorite fall sweaters (or costumes!), and yes, I will absolutely be participating in the vendor trick-or-treating. Come get your flowers and a piece of candy (chocolate, obviously). 🍬

Do you ever feel like your brain won't turn off?

I've been there. Actually, I was just there this week.

With my kids just starting 2nd grade, kindergarten, and preschool, plus a two-year-old on my hip, my house is a fluttery blur of alphabet handouts and laundry up to my ears. Staring at the mess makes my brain instantly loop to: how will I get it all done?

Usually, when I feel that overwhelm (hi, you’re not alone), my go-to is a big sweeping giant-solution idea. Like a two-week vacation to a deserted island. Or, more realistically, I just collapse on the couch and doom-scroll for three hours to numb the noise.

But here’s what I’m realizing: escaping into my phone doesn’t actually give my brain rest.

The real rest and reprieve comes from doing something tactile. Stepping outside. Getting my hands in the dirt. Putting a jar of fresh sunflowers on the messy kitchen counter.

Flowers remind me to slow down. Not everything needs to get done right now. We have plenty of time.

I’m not behind, and neither are you.
