Hi, I’m Dana! 👋 I am the farmer, florist, and the hands in the dirt behind Walton Family Flowers.
I will never forget the day I stood in my market booth at 11:00 AM surrounded by completely empty buckets. I had sold out early, and my immediate reaction was pure panic.
“Oh my gosh, people are going to be mad! What if someone gets here right now expecting a bouquet?!”
But guess what? No one was mad. Disappointed they missed the blooms? Sure. But deeply encouraging and supportive of this small business? 1000%. People cheered me on and promised to come earlier the next week.
It made me realize something important: you aren't just showing up to my tent for a pretty centerpiece. You are showing up for what the flowers do for you.
Do you ever feel like your brain just won’t turn off?
I have been there. Between raising four kids and running a flower farm in my yard, I know what it feels like when the noise is loud and the screen time is just too high.
My best advice? Buy yourself flowers.
At Walton Family Flowers, we grow flowers specifically to help you slow down. When you bring home a bouquet, trim the stems, and arrange them in a vase, it forces you away from the screens and right into the present moment.
Let them slow you down, so you can finally feel grounded and at peace.
If you need an excuse to unplug and reset this weekend, come find me at the Aurora Farmers Market on Saturday mornings from 8 AM to 12 PM.
I’ll be the one handing you your weekend reset. (Just maybe come before 11 😉).
