My love for collecting items started as a young child. Three individuals influence my love of collecting and admiring the “story” connected to items. The first was my grandmother, Matta. She had beautiful knickknacks displayed on a shelf. Each item held a story of her childhood or family. My grandmother was raised in an orphanage and she understood how important the story was concerning an item. Some of her knickknacks were all she had to remind her of the family she lost at the age of 3. The second was my godfather and great uncle; Bishop Garriga. Mariano Garriga, was the third bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Corpus Christ and the first ordained Bishop to be native-born to Texas. He served as Bishop of the Corpus Christi Diocese from 1949 until his death in 1965. His devotion to faith, family & religion made me curious about the history of the catholic church and religious memorabilia. My mother also had an influence on my love of collecting. She taught me the value of buying items which connect to the heart. She cherished certain items in her life and to her they were priceless. I hope you find an item that brings a story, connects to your history and you cherish for many years.

Due to some medical appointments and health-related needs, I have had to make some temporary changes to my store hours.
There may be times when the shop closes early or is closed for a short period so I can attend doctor appointments and take care of myself.

This vintage thermometer advertises the J.R. Wilson Co., which was a staple on the west side of the downtown square for nearly a century. Organized in 1884 by J.R. Wilson, this incredible company offered everything you needed in town: furniture, funeral services, a registered ambulance service, and even burial insurance! By 1938, it was officially recognized as the oldest business in Leonard, proudly serving the community until 1970.
