Vickie's Wood Art 3-D Wood Art, A mosaic of many pieces of natural wood that is individually cut sanded and shaped to form a picture

Intarisa is a woodworking technique that used a variety of shaped,sizes and species of wood fittied together to created a 3-d picture. Intarsia is created through the selection of different typed of woods, using its natural grain pattern and color to create variations in the pattern. After selecting the woods to be used within the pattern each piece is then indivudally cut, shaped and sanded. Cert

ain area of the pattern are raised & lowered to created a 3-d effect. One the pieces are completed they are fitted together and glued to a wood backing and a finished is applied to picture. Each pieces takes four to eight week to complete depending on the picture.
