Nantucket Basket Weaving Class

Nantucket Basket Weaving Class I have been making Nantucket Baskets since 2002 and started teaching this art form in 2020.

My love for these baskets dates back to 1973 on a move to Nantucket and a gift of my first Michael Kane basket in 1980.

Meet our September basket maker of the month, Karen Angus LaMendola.

She is a crafter by nature, teaches sewing classes and sells sewing machines so the gal to see if you need one.

She tackled an 8” round, a bracelet and already jumped into the Lisa’s Market Tote. There ain’t no stopping her now, she is on the move.

Karen enjoyed a free class with this honor and brings so much energy to every Nantucket class.
