Had a great trip to nyc for two very special events, and some sourcing in the middle! It started with an amazing trip hosted by Brizo® Kitchen & Bath for New York Fashion Week with a showing of Jason Wu’s new collection and ended with What’s New What’s Next at New York Design Center 💃🏻

I am leaving feeling so inspired to kickoff three new projects this month with lots of new samples in the library and tons of photos of beautiful things that caught my eye.

Being based in a smaller city means it’s more important for my business (and creative battery) than ever to get out there and see what’s up!!

Most other furniture options would have you sitting with your back to the view, so we decided to utilize this space as a work surface with a writing desk, allowing the homeowners to sit facing out to the beautiful street. One of the biggest misconceptions about interior design is that we spend our days selecting fabrics and furniture.
Those are certainly the fun parts, but they're only one piece of the job.

A typical full-service project moves through onboarding, concept development, design refinement, procurement, construction and installation. Along the way we're coordinating budgets, reviewing contractor bids, creating construction drawings and specifications, tracking orders, managing timelines, visiting job sites and solving problems before our clients ever know they exist.

The goal is simple: create a home that feels deeply personal while making an incredibly complex process feel organized and enjoyable.

That's the part of design you don't usually see.

I almost never leave trim white. It just usually doesn’t feel like the most interesting choice we could make and sometimes even feels dated to me. That doesn’t mean that I’m against using a consistent trim color, however. Some spaces, open floor plans especially, really benefit from a consistent trim color— but just ask yourself, does it have to be white? What else could it be?!
