What are your plans for the weekend?

Spending time with my plants this weekend is the best way to show them some love.

Here are my favorite plant chores during the weekend:
-I poke the soil to see if it is dry and needs water.
-Talk to my plants.
-I check for signs of pests or stress.
-If needed, I rearrange plant locations and remove dead foliage.

African violets have been among the world's most popular houseplants for more than a century. Here's a simple care guide for these exotic tropical beauties.

Soil – A well-drained potting mix is essential
Water– Use room temperature water and never water your African Violets from above
Light-Place African violet in a well-lit location that is not in direct sunlight. East or west windows are good locations.
Fertilizer. Feed with an African violet fertilizer every other week.
Propagation- Propagate your African violet through leaf cuttings, preferably in the spring.
