Logging in Texas during August feels like a full day even when it’s a half day.

We start at sunrise and try to wrap up around 2 PM before it gets brutally hotter. Lots of breaks and everyone staying hydrated is a requirement.

Looking forward to our first real cool front, whenever it comes. Y’all agree?

Our post oak exterior columns look like 100 year old beams, professionally textured to give that aged hand-hewn appearance.

Our STIHL chainsaw lineup is a selection of powerful tools that help us work through a wide range of logging jobs. From the MS 261, a lightweight pro saw for limbing, all the way up to the MS Magnum 881, one of the world’s highest displacement production chainsaws, designed for extreme professional logging… and the many other model sizes in between.

Each saw is specifically chosen for different tree types and sizes. With sharp chains, clean mixed fuel, and well-maintained saws, we can harvest our dead standing timber safely and efficiently.

When we got the order for a custom table with a 3” thick solid top, live edges and actual post oak branches for legs, we knew just how to design it…. A Viking table! ⚔️

The top is 40” wide, 96” long and full of incredible grain patterns.

We filled in any checks, knots or small cavities with a clear resin, then sanded smoothly. Final touch, Odie’s food grade oil was applied to make the whole thing pop, showing off the rich colors.

Nothing boring here! This table is an automatic eye catcher and will last for generations.

We’ve consciously designed our logging and milling processes to not waste any natural resources.

Dead standing trees are milled into solid boards and beams, leaving behind tons of outer slabs as byproduct.

Our post oak slabs go to the log splitter, perfectly seasoned for excellent firewood.

Eastern red cedar slabs are stockpiled for the chipper, making clean, dry, aromatic mulch.

Always our goal to preserve what Mother Nature has made! 🌲♻️

With an unusually wet June in Central Texas, our fields are green, ponds are full and cows are fat! 🐂

Muddy conditions prevented us from logging as scheduled, so we stayed plenty busy at the mill. Took some downtime for pasture golf and “real golf” for our 51st annual family reunion.

Love the outdoors, whatever Mother Nature brings us!

This shared trailer load included a mix of 3/4” post oak boards, 6x6 eastern red cedar columns, and heavy 22’ oak beams.
