In Odisha’s Pattachitra art, the wheel (or Chakra) carries profound theological, astronomical, and cultural significance.
In the devotional context, the wheel symbolizes the maintenance of Dharma (righteousness), cosmic order, and the destruction of negative forces by Lord Vishnu and his avatars.
I loved painting this tray - a contemporary take on an ancient art form .

When the skies are blue and the clouds lazily stroll across , when raindrops soak the earth, surely a riot of flowers cannot be unexpected! Blue pottery reminds me of blue skies, lazy clouds and gentle rain . The result is bound to be magical !! I absolutely loved painting these trays inspired by the Rajasthani blue pottery style of art . Hand-painted with love for a very special reunion 🩵💙

Teachers are our guiding light, our lighthouses leading our precious children…and I am delighted that The Creative Hand is a part of this week’s Teacher Appreciation Week celebration in such a meaningful way!
A mentor teacher asking me make some meaningful gifts for her mentee - what more could I ask for ?!
My friend Malini Banerjee represents the finest qualities that one can expect in an educator . The fact that she won the Outstanding Mentor Teacher of the Year award from TCNJ this year does not surprise me !! She has mentored budding teachers for many years now and has pored her heart and soul into it every time .
Congratulations Malini !! So very proud of you 💗🎉👏

It is such a huge honor to have my painting ~Shared Earth~ featured in Resonance -Roots and Routes - a juried exhibition for the Garden State Art Weekend , alongside such talented South Asian artists — what an amazing experience!

Thank you to everyone who came to the opening and shared such kind words about my art. It was wonderful to talk about my passion for storytelling through folk art and talk about my artistic journey that led to this Warli art piece .

Grateful to the South Asian Artists Association of America and MPAC for this opportunity!
